Short Swim
As we could only add late entires to the short swim ( due to safety) some of these swimmers were actually in before the juniors.
Peter Gibney, Nic Wilson and Jan Abbink had last minute jointly decided that only those under 16 would qualify for a prize and this was announced at the start of the short swim.
The fastest swimmer was actually Mr. Octavio Gamarra -the Senior Vice - President of Dusit International (20.33) followed by David Milziner (20.41) and Helena Marschall (21.14), who despite her youthfull looks and being part of the Bangkok Patana/ Foremost team, turned out to be 29 years old and a staff member of the school.
They were followed closely by the 3 junior swimmers, who received the trophies.
1) Jessica Pisters - Regent's school - time 23.25.
Jessica is 13 year old and the daughter Thai Garden Resort GM Rene Pisters and last year's no. 2
2) Marissa Sittheeamorn - Bangkok Pattana School / Foremost Team - time 23.30
Marissa is 12 years old and a very promising new talent for the swim.
3) Nina Smart - Bangkok Pattana School / Foremost Team.
Petite 11 year old Nina outswam swimmers twice her size - a major accomplishment indeed! Her 13 year old brother William bravely joined the long swim and was amongst the first half to finish. A Smart family of swimmers!
